This website operates without using cookies or storing any personal data on your device. I believe in respecting your privacy while still gathering basic insights to improve the website experience.
What I Track (Anonymously)
I use a self-hosted Matomo analytics system that collects basic, anonymized information about website usage:
- Page views: Which pages are visited most frequently
- Geographic region: General location (country/city level) to understand my audience
- Referrer information: How visitors find this website (search engines, direct links, etc.)
- Device information: Browser type and screen resolution for optimization
- Session duration: How long visitors spend on the site
What I DON'T Track
- No personal identification or user profiling
- No cross-site tracking or advertising
- No data sharing with third parties
- No cookies or local storage
- IP addresses are anonymized immediately
Self-Hosted Analytics
Unlike Google Analytics or other third-party services, all analytics data is processed on my own servers in Germany, ensuring GDPR compliance and complete data sovereignty. No data leaves my infrastructure.
Your Rights
Since no personal data is collected or stored, there's nothing to delete or modify. However, if you prefer not to be included in anonymous statistics, you can:
- Use your browser's "Do Not Track" setting
- Block the analytics domain in your browser
- Contact me directly for any privacy concerns
Technical Implementation
As a DevOps engineer with a cybersecurity focus, I've implemented privacy-by-design principles:
- Matomo configured with
disableCookies()function - IP anonymization enabled (last 2 octets removed)
- Self-hosted on secure German infrastructure
- Regular security audits and updates
